What is Hypnosis

  It is probably easier to tell you what hypnosis isn't:

  • Hypnosis is not sleep - it is a state between awake and on the verge of sleep
  • Hypnosis is not being unconsious
  • It does not mean you are 'gullible' - you maybe suggestable but this is good, it means that you are gifted and open to new ideas
  • It does not mean you are 'weak minded' - it simply means you have the intelligence to follow instructions
  • It does not mean that you will controlled by someone else, or lose self control - you will not do anything against your own values and beliefs.  Your values and beliefs will protect you at all times.
Hypnosis is a wilful suspension of disbelief.
